Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre Live with Quadrant Workforce

We are pleased to announce that The Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre in Ottawa is now live with Quadrant Workforce. The complete suite has been implemented, including Scheduling, Payroll, Self Service and HR. Go Live with Quadrant Scheduling commenced December 17th.

The Ottawa-based Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre is a home for the elderly known for innovation and leadership in geriatrics, specialization in dementia programming and exceptional Volunteer, Recreation and Creative Arts services. Opened in 1995 the Perley Rideau is home to 450 residents, 250 of whom are veterans. The Perley Rideau offers long-term, short-term, respite, and convalescent care.

Mental Health Centre Penetanguishene Now a Quadrant Financials Client

We are pleased to announce that the Mental Health Centre Penetanguishene (MHCP) has chosen Quadrant Financials as their financial management software solution. An existing Quadrant Workforce client, the organization has been using Quadrant Payroll since January of this year and will begin implementation of the financials solution in the coming weeks.

The Mental Health Centre Penetanguishene is a fully accredited 312-bed psychiatric hospital. The MHCP is sponsored by the Catholic Health Corporation of Ontario, which is a health care sponsoring agency of the Catholic Church. It is situated approximately 150 km northwest of Toronto, on Georgian Bay in the town of Penetanguishene. It has operated as a psychiatric hospital since 1904.

Meadowood Manor 'live' with Quadrant Payroll and Staff Scheduling

QHR is happy to announce that longtime Quadrant Financials client, Meadowood Manor, has went 'live' with Quadrant Payroll and Staff Scheduling. The implementation began in July of this year and concluded in just under three months. With this implementation, Meadowood is now using the complete Quadrant Enterprise Management Solution (EMS), which includes both our Workforce and Financial Management suites.

Meadowood is a faith-based, 88-bed Personal Care Home located in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The non-profit home also houses an 89-suite Seniors Independent Living apartment complex. Their focus is on providing a superior level of care while enriching the lives of seniors both physically and spiritually.

Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre Now Using Quadrant Workforce

QHR is happy to announce our newest Quadrant Workforce client - Perley and Rideau Veterans' Health Centre. An existing Quadrant Financials client for the past 10 years, the veterans’ health centre has now signed on to use the full Quadrant Workforce suite – HR, Payroll and Staff Scheduling. Perley and Rideau Veterans’ Health Centre is one of 25 QHR Software clients that are using the complete Quadrant Enterprise Management software solution (Quadrant Workforce and Quadrant Financials).

Phase one of the implementation has already begun and includes Payroll, Staff Scheduling and QHRnet. Phase two is set to begin in early 2010 and will involve HR functionality including Checklists and Notifications and User Defined Folders for training and competency management.

QHR is pleased to welcome Tom Mamic to the role of Chief Financial Officer with QHR Software. Tom has financial experience in both public and private organizations, managing in complex, fast-paced environments and translating strategy into structure and execution.

Prior to joining QHR, Tom has held a variety of executive and senior managerial positions in a number of technology development organizations including the President and CEO of Agrisoma Biosciences Inc., where he was a co-founder, and VP Finance and CFO of Chromos Molecular Systems Inc., where he led the company's efforts to secure over $50 million in equity capital including an initial public offering on the Toronto Stock Exchange. A Chartered Accountant, Mr. Mamic holds a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of British Columbia. We are thrilled to have Tom on board.

QHR is pleased to welcome Mark Myers to the role of Director of Client Services.

In this newly created role, Mark will be responsible for providing executive sponsorship for all of QHR’s significant projects as well as continuing to enhance our client services team, capability and reputation within the industry. Based in Toronto, Mark comes to QHR with a wealth of experience in client services from Peoplesoft / Oracle as well as an earlier career with the TD Bank. Mark has over 15 years of implementation and client service experience working with customers deploying Payroll and HRMS software solutions.

Reporting to Mark are Evonne Dolphin, Project Manager and her implementation team across the country and Todd McNeil, Implementation Service Manager and his Winnipeg team.

Christian Horizons goes 'live'

Christian Horizons purchased the complete Workforce suite of products (HR, payroll, staff scheduling and QHRnet.) in late 2008. Since then, QHR has been working with the organization to replace their service bureau payroll application. Christian Horizons has successfully deployed the payroll software and has processed a smooth payroll run.

New Quadrant Workforce Version Released

Version 2.9.1 of the Quadrant Workforce software (HR, payroll, and staff scheduling) has been released. Some of the new features and updates include:

New exports including Espresso GL Export v2, Staff Scheduling data to SAP and a modified Apogee export.

Shift levelling by position. This allows an employee to be paid contracted guaranteed hours each pay period regardless of the actual hours worked.

New pension service method for Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSU) Pension Plan.

Federal Budget Tax Structure changes - modifications have been made to accommodate tax structure changes in the 2009 Federal Budget.

As part of our continued growth in Eastern Canada and Ontario specifically, QHR has added several new key team members to support our eastern-based clients. The new positions are based in Toronto and include an Implementation Consultant, SQL DBA Support and Support Analyst.

In addition, we've also added Mike D'Arcy as Director of Sales for all of QHR Software. Mike brings with him previous experience at Microsoft Canada and is settling into our head office in Kelowna where he will oversee all Sales & Marketing related duties for the company.

New Partnership with Community Care Information Management (CCIM)

QHR Software is pleased to announce a partnership with CCIM to provide HR and payroll software solutions to organizations across the Community Support Services (CSS) and Community Mental Health & Addictions (CMH&A) sectors in Ontario.

QHR was awarded the contract after an RFP process and evaluation to provide human resources and payroll software solutions for the two sectors. The selected 'best of breed' software solutions will interface with integrated Community Care sector business systems to streamline processes and increase organizational effectiveness. Innovative, sector-specific training and support approaches will be delivered by dedicated teams after consultation with sector organizations.

QHR's software has been specifically designed to cater to the needs of the Canadian healthcare environment, which includes specific provincial reporting and standards requirements. Organizations that use this software will have the ability to improve back office efficiencies plus provide access to timely information and reports that will assist CSS and CMH&A organizations in their planning and decision-making.

Mental Health Centre Penetanguishene 'Live' with Payroll Software

The Mental Health Centre Penetanguishene (MHCP) went 'live' with Quadrant HR's Payroll software on January 21, 2009.

Implementation of Quadrant HR's payroll software is the first stage of the process. The MHCP is also underway with the implementation of Quadrant HR's Staff Scheduling software, targetted to go 'live' this summer.

Quadrant HR's Staff Scheduling software helps organizations quickly, easily and efficiently schedule the right people, in the right positions, at the right time, for the right cost.

This was an especially complex implementation as it had an aggressive timeline. QHR is pleased with how well both organizations worked together to successfully meet its ambitious deliverables.

Integration of Quadrant HR's payroll software and staff scheduling software will provide enormous benefits to MHCP such as eliminating duplicate data entry, system interfaces and multiple databases for the same employee information.

QHR Acquires Financial Software Division of Momentum Healthware

QHR Software Inc. has purchased the Financial Software division of Momentum Healthware. QHR Software is thrilled to be part of the same family that is now one of the largest Canadian Health Informatics companies.

Under the Agreement, QHR Software is acquiring all the business and operating assets of Momentum's Financial Software Division (the 'Division'). This Division is a market leader in providing customized financial software to the healthcare industry, built on the Microsoft Dynamics GP (formerly Great Plains) platform. This software, currently known as Momentum Financials, is marketed to medium and large healthcare facilities - the same market segment that QHR targets with its payroll, scheduling and human resource management software called Quadrant HR™.

In announcing the purchase, Al Hildebrandt, President and CEO of QHR Software, said:

"Momentum and QHR have worked together as partners since the inception of our two companies, serving a common client base. The acquisition of the Financial Software Division gives QHR the opportunity to become the dominant force in providing a comprehensive enterprise management software solution to the healthcare market. I am delighted with the acquisition, particularly because Charles LaFleche, the founder of Momentum, will be taking an executive management role with QHR."

All of the staff at Momentum currently involved with the Division will join QHR and remain at their Winnipeg office. Additionally, QHR will be opening a Winnipeg office, adjacent to the current Momentum offices, to allow for further expansion of the company.

Al Hildebrandt, President & CEO of QHR Software, is pleased to announce the appointment of Larry Smith to the role of Chief Operating Officer.

Larry has held senior management positions, including COO and President, with several companies of similar or larger size in Kelowna. He has experience with staff scheduling, payroll, human resources, and financial applications and has been involved in the healthcare IT industry for over 20 years.

For the past several years, Larry has provided professional consulting services throughout the Okanagan. As a consultant, Larry has worked with a number of companies assisting them in the mission of 'building great companies'. He has recently developed market assessments and strategies for both QHR Software and Optimed Software providing him with indepth knowledge of our company and direction.

Larry has a B.Sc. in Health Information Science from UVIC, an MBA from UBC and is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC). He was the founding chair of OSTEC, a board member of the EDC, was co-chair of the local ACETECH, and a past member of the Science Council of B.C.

Parkland RHA 'Live' with Quadrant HR Staff Scheduling

Gilbert Plains Health Centre, Grandview Personal Care Home and Grandview District Hospital, three facilities located in the Parkland Regional Health Authority (Parkland RHA), went 'live' with Quadrant HR's Staff Scheduling module in December, 2008.

Since March 2003, Parkland RHA has been using Quadrant HR's Payroll and Human Resources modules to administer and pay their workforce of 2,000. This is the first phase of the Staff Scheduling implementation with eventual use region-wide. Community Health Services and the Roblin Hospital will complete implementation this January and February respectively. The next phase will include the Swan facilities, followed by the Dauphin Regional health Centre.

Brenda Murray, Regional Payroll Manager and QHR System Administrator at Parkland says "We are pleased that we have successfully completed the first stage of implementing Quadrant HR Staff Scheduling. This will replace existing manual paper-based scheduling processes and other third-party systems. We anticipate that the region-wide implementation will assist us in developing consistent practices that will help us to be more efficient and cost-effective."

Implementation of Staff Scheduling will also help Parkland to realize the full benefits of seamless integration with Quadrant HR's Payroll and Human Resources modules. Manual processes and interfaces to third-party systems will no longer be required.
