Diagnostic Services of Manitoba Signs on with Quadrant HR

Wednesday, May 30, 2007

DSM QHR Software Inc. is pleased to announce our newest customer, Diagnostic Services of Manitoba. DSM is the not-for-profit corporation responsible for all of Manitoba's public laboratory services and for rural diagnostic imaging services.

DSM has selected QHR's software solution called Quadrant HR to streamline Human Resources, Payroll, and Staff Scheduling, including implementation of the self service module called QHRnet, to better manage the growing complexity of their workforce of 1,300.

DSM is a relatively new organization that was established based on direction provided by the Government of Manitoba to position public laboratory services to meet the challenges of growing demand for services and expectations for high quality and greater standardization within an environment of limited resources.

DSM has moved towards the vision of being a centrally managed diagnostic service provider through the completion of the transition to DSM of all management and non-union staff throughout the province, as well as all Winnipeg based laboratory staff. The next stage of the DSM implementation involves the transition of laboratory and diagnostic imaging staff in rural and northern Manitoba, as well as the merger with Westman Regional Lab. Once this stage is complete DSM will have approximately 1300 staff located at 77 sites across the province.

Cynthia Ostapyk, Chief Financial Officer at DSM says "A fully integrated HRIS solution is critical for DSM to achieve its vision to deliver a centrally managed diagnostic system for Manitoba that is sustainable, state-of-the-art, cost-effective and known for its high quality and exceptional customer service. We are pleased to be working with Quadrant HR, given their previous experience in Manitoba's health care environment."

Quadrant HR will replace DSM's current service-bureau payroll application, as well as several paper-based Human Resources processes. Quadrant HR will provide significant value through the reduction in annual operational expenses, while building an effective and efficient stream of workflows for this geographically diverse organization.

Al Hildebrandt, QHR's President says "We are pleased to welcome DSM as a client and look forward to working together to implement the Quadrant HR solution to help them achieve their vision of an integrated system to effectively administer their workforce."

QHR Software Inc. develops, implements and supports a user-defined, configurable software solution called Quadrant HR which integrates best practices for Human Resources, Staff Scheduling and Payroll into a single system. Regional Health Authority Central Manitoba Improves Patient Care with Quadrant HR Cost Savings

Tuesday, May 22, 2007

RHA Central Manitoba The RHA Central Manitoba, located in Morden, Manitoba, is a a regional health authority employing over 3,000 employees and providing health services to the most populated of Manitoba's rural and northern regions with over 98,000 people.

In 2002, they set out to replace their payroll service bureau provider as they needed to improve reporting and cost controls and increase efficiency of payroll processing. They evaluated several vendors and chose Quadrant HR because it could help them achieve these goals.

Since implementing Quadrant HR's Payroll module in April 2003, Central Manitoba has realized many benefits including:

  • 95% reduction in pay errors
  • Ability to validate payroll accuracy before processing
  • $150,000 annual cost savings
  • Recovered 4 staff days per month
  • Gained full control of employee HR data
  • Eliminated deficient, manual reporting
  • Decreased risk of financial hardship for employees.

Realizing these benefits has provided direct cost savings which, in turn, has improved patient care.

"We are charged with the responsibility of providing value for healthcare management so that more dollars are available on the clinical side. This has a direct impact on improving the quality of patient care. QHR has greatly contributed to this accomplishment," says Sheldon Hildebrand, Regional Payroll Coordinator.

CCAC Satisfied with QHR System, Implementation and Support

Monday, May 07, 2007

CCAC The Community Care Access Centres (CCACs) are local organizations that help Ontario residents access government-funded home care services and long-term care homes employing 5,500+ employees in 14 regions.

The CCAC's required a workforce solution that could accommodate the unique requirements and complexities of their organizations. As a result, they went through an extensive due diligence process investigating several prospective vendors. During this process, it became apparent Quadrant HR's integrated solution could best service their needs. In October 2004, they contracted QHR Software to implement the Quadrant HR solution to manage information for Human Resources, Staff Scheduling and Payroll throughout the organization.

Currently, 12 of the 14 sites are now processing employee pay using Quadrant HR Payroll with the remaining sites scheduled for completion in 2007. The implementation has been a significant undertaking as it includes multiple phases with numerous system configurations and changing requirements at these 14 sites.

John Phillips, Implementation Lead for the CCAC project team says "The CCACs are pleased with the successful configuration, implementation and deployment of Quadrant HR. We attribute some of this success to the full-time, on-site QHR implementation resource dedicated exclusively to this project. This individual's expertise with Quadrant HR, coupled with strong project management skills, has helped CCACs to successfully meet the project milestones as defined in the project plan."

The CCACs have also worked closely with QHR Product Management to help with unique configuration and software requirements, including the development of new self scheduling capability required by the Toronto CCAC.

"The CCAC sector's experience working with QHR's Product Management team has also been positive. The team is responsive and willing to work closely with CCACs to ensure the system meets their needs," says John.

Finally, the Quadrant HR application has proven to be a good fit.

"Its configurable design gives us the control and flexibility to make changes to accommodate unique requirements for each of the sites. CCACs have realized improved efficiency in payroll processes. In addition, QHR's expertise in Canadian healthcare has provided perspective on best practices, insight into the intricacies of the industry and how to best configure the system to address these challenges," says John.
