QHR Attends Healthcare CEO Forum

QHR continues to invest to keep current with leadership issues facing Canadian Healthcare, attending the 5th annual Healthcare CEO Forum on February 16 in Montreal, Quebec. This national leadership conference is organized and hosted by CHSRF (www.chsrf.ca). We thank the CHSFT team for a great program. Attending the conference were approximately 150 hospital CEOs, Regional Health Authority leaders, Provincial Health Organization executives and other senior leaders from across Canada discussing topic such as:

- leadership accountability,
- quality improvement initiatives,
- the politics of health improvement,
- variations in care,
- integrated health systems, and
- ‘disinvestment’ strategies.

QHR connected with healthcare executives from across Canada, and valued the opportunity to hear great speakers such as the Honourable Deb Matthews, Ph.D., Minister of Health and Long Term Care for Ontario on the Excellence Care for All (ECFA) Act. Other speakers at this all-day session included;

- Helen Bevan, Director of Service Transformation, MHS Institute for Innovation and Improvement, U.K.
- Jeff Turnbull, President, Canadian Medical Association
- Dennis Kendel, Registrar, College of Physicians and Surgeons of Saskatchewan

- Robert Salois, Health & Welfare Commissioner, Government of Quebec
